Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: identifying the location of the papers, explaining their importance, and requesting specific action from the manager. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the papers are important for a job offer, adding a brief sentence about the potential consequences of losing them would have strengthened the response. The letter is clear and the purpose is immediately understood, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the context of your stay to the problem and finally the requested solution. However, the paragraphing is insufficient; the entire body of the letter is contained in one block, which makes it harder to read. Using cohesive devices like 'consequently' or 'furthermore' would help link your ideas more fluidly. While the referencing (e.g., 'those papers') is clear, the overall structure would benefit from a more formal division between the introduction, the explanation of the problem, and the call to action.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have used an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'inconvenience' and 'bookings'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'give it back' (should be 'return them') and 'two of this things' (should be 'both of these details'). The vocabulary is functional and allows for clear communication, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band score. Expanding your range to include more formal synonyms would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are several grammatical errors that persist. For instance, 'that might causes' should be 'that might cause', and 'I think i have left' should be 'I think I left'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization of 'I'. While these errors do not impede the overall meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent capitalization will improve your accuracy.
