Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: identifying the location of the papers, explaining their importance, and requesting action from the manager. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding the importance of the documents is repetitive, focusing heavily on the fear of being fired rather than the nature of the documents themselves. While the task is fulfilled, the tone is occasionally informal and the expression of ideas lacks the precision expected for a formal business letter. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more professional detail and clear, logical reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is organized into a basic structure, but the flow between sentences is often disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'Although,' but they are sometimes used incorrectly or lead to awkward sentence structures. Paragraphing is absent, which makes the text appear as a single block of information. To improve, you should separate your ideas into distinct paragraphs: one for the purpose of the letter, one for the explanation of the documents, and one for the request. Using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore') would help guide the reader more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally limited and contains several errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'porter it' instead of 'courier' or 'send,' and 'opposition company' instead of 'competitor.' There are also spelling errors like 'writting,' 'doucment,' and 'reember.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the frequent spelling mistakes prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning common business collocations and proofreading your work to correct basic spelling errors, which will significantly improve the professional quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with verb tenses ('my boss will fired me'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction ('I am asking a favour to you as could you please'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often result in errors that affect the flow of the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and ensuring that your verb forms are consistent. Pay close attention to the use of articles and prepositions, as these are currently causing frequent minor errors.
