IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter

• say where you think you left the papers
• explain why they are so important
• tell the manager what you want him/her to do

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing regarding some important paper, that I believe I accidently forget at my hotel room during my stay at your hotel.

I stayed at your hotel from 5th to 7th august and I think I may left my important documents. My room number was 215 on third floor. I kept all my papers in my room's closet with my suitcase, but somehow I forget them.

Those papers were extremely important to me because those were my original documents for my visa I applied for my abroad study. It contain all the information for my application. Unfortunately, I do not have any copies of those documents.

I would be grateful if you could ask your house keeping staff if they have found something in my room. If papers are found can you send them back to my home address which I have already provided you during my check in.
