IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter

• say where you think you left the papers
• explain why they are so important
• tell the manager what you want him/her to do

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to brought light to one very concerning matter to me as I forget my very important documents at your hotel. I organized an annual award distribution for my company on 19th August 2026 at Ritz Carlton Hotel in Niagara Falls and the main event was on the 5th floor of the building. I accidently left a paper containing all the important notes, they are extremely important to me moving forward with future projects of my firm.

I will give you few details where I believe you can find my documents. I sat on the table in the north-east direction near the stage. You will see a black lather folder on the table. That contains some vital information about the company and about its future projects, these documents should not go in wrong hands otherwise it can cause a lot of damage to my career. If you see that folder please keep it with you or you can hand it to someone who you trust. I am will be visiting Niagara Falls on 25th August again and I will collect it myself from the hotel.
