Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the location of the papers, their importance, and the requested action. However, the development of these points is somewhat repetitive. For example, the importance of the papers is mentioned in both the first and second paragraphs, which makes the flow feel slightly circular. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the request for 'potter service' is unclear and likely a misuse of vocabulary. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct idea rather than restating previous points, and provide more precise details regarding the requested action.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into three paragraphs, which is a good structure for a formal letter. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'Thereafter', and 'However'. However, some of these are used incorrectly or mechanically; for instance, 'Thereafter' is used to introduce a point that repeats information rather than advancing the narrative. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' to refer to plural 'documents'. While the overall message is understandable, the logical progression between sentences could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and contains several errors. There is frequent confusion between singular and plural forms (e.g., 'an important documents', 'a forms', 'that papers'). The term 'potter service' is likely a misuse of 'courier service' or 'postal service', which hinders clarity. There is also some repetition of basic words like 'important' and 'papers'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more accurate collocations and ensuring subject-verb and noun-number agreement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include article misuse ('in a hotel'), subject-verb agreement ('papers are related', 'it was a form and essential documents'), and prepositional errors ('left side of a stage'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage (e.g., 'If, you have any issue'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing.
