Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt: the location of the papers, their importance, and the requested action. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a hotel manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the papers are important, explaining why they are 'confidential' or what the consequences of losing them might be would have provided better development. The letter is functional and clearly communicates the purpose, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the sequence of events. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'and', 'as', and 'but', which provide a clear flow. However, the transition between the description of the papers and the request for action is slightly abrupt. To improve, you could use more sophisticated linking phrases to connect your ideas, such as 'Given the sensitive nature of these documents, I would be extremely grateful if you could...' instead of starting a new, short sentence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly, such as 'confidential', 'inconvenience', and 'premises'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'send me those document from a speed post' (should be 'by speed post') and 'on the same address' (should be 'to the same address'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the variety and precision required for a higher band score. Expanding your range of professional terminology would enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'I check out' should be 'I checked out', 'It hold's' contains an unnecessary apostrophe, and 'those document' should be pluralized as 'those documents'. Additionally, the sentence 'I am writing this letter exactly after 2 days' is slightly unnatural. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and tense consistency will help improve your accuracy.
