You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 7.0)

Dear Sir,

I hope this mail finds you well, and it is very important and requires your attention. Two days ago, I stayed at your Castle Hotel, and it was a great experience.

The reason why I am writing this mail is that while checking out, by mistake, I forgot my job offer letter in the room. Most probably, it was on the TV table. This letter is very important for me because it has a barcode on it, and without it, I can’t access my company profile. I have to upload a few documents to my account before the end of this week.

I tried to connect with your receptionist, but I didn't get any update. I am requesting you to please check with the janitors and other staff members. Someone might have found it and kept it in a secure place.

I want these papers as soon as possible. If you get any lead, please send me an email or reply to this email. Luckily, I am not that far from your hotel, so please give me a call, and I will come personally to pick it up.

Thank you so much for your time, and I believe that you will try your best.

Warm regards,

Aryan Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly identified the location of the papers (the TV table), explained their importance (accessing a company profile via a barcode), and provided a clear request for action (checking with staff and contacting you). The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a hotel manager. The ideas are well-developed and the purpose of the communication is clear from the outset. You have fully satisfied the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter is well-organized with a logical progression of ideas. Each paragraph serves a distinct purpose, moving from the introduction to the problem, the previous attempt to resolve it, and finally the requested action. Cohesive devices such as 'The reason why I am writing', 'Most probably', and 'Thank you so much' are used effectively to link sentences and paragraphs. The flow is smooth, and the information is easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task. Phrases like 'requires your attention', 'checking out', and 'secure place' are used correctly. While the vocabulary is functional and clear, it is somewhat standard. To reach a higher band, you could incorporate more precise or sophisticated collocations, such as 'misplaced' instead of 'forgot' or 'urgent matter' instead of 'very important'. However, the current range is sufficient to convey your message accurately without any confusion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The letter shows a good control of grammar with a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are error-free, and your meaning is always clear. There are minor slips, such as 'I hope this mail finds you well' (usually 'email' is preferred in this context) and 'I tried to connect with your receptionist' (where 'contact' would be more natural than 'connect'). These are minor and do not impede communication. Punctuation is generally accurate, and the tone remains consistently formal.
