IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter

• say where you think you left the papers
• explain why they are so important
• tell the manager what you want him/her to do

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Hello sir,

I am writing this letter to make a request regarding my documents. Recently, I visited your hotel for one night stay in order to attend my work conference on 24th August. I completed my work around 9 PM and my return flight was in the early morning.

In addition, due to having rush, I left my file on table which is next to the bed. These papers are an important part of my visit because I took note of every details in those documents, if I will not able to obtain it, it might affect my job security and my visit becomes waster of time and money which was sponsored by the company. Consequently, I am requesting you to take follow-up from your housekeeping department. If you can find it, please send it to me via shipping and I will consider myself for paying all of the charges.
