Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The candidate successfully covers all three bullet points required by the task prompt. You state where you left the papers ('right side frist drover' in room 711), explain why they are important ('our official agreement paper with clients'), and state what you want the manager to do ('tell your staff members and try to fing it out... sent me it by via portal'). The tone is appropriately formal for a business request to a hotel manager, despite minor vocabulary and grammar slips. Ideas are relevant and developed sufficiently to meet the requirements for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter is structured with appropriate letter-writing conventions, including a standard greeting ('Dear Sir,') and sign-off. Paragraphing is attempted to separate the different ideas, such as room details, importance, and desired actions. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or overused, such as starting consecutive sentences with 'Moreover' and 'I would be suggest'. Referencing is generally clear, though paragraph breaks can feel a bit disjointed. Overall, the organization meets the criteria for Band 6.0 as the progression of ideas is coherent overall.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate the core message. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'significant', 'official agreement', and 'prompt response'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('stayed' instead of stay, 'frist' for first, 'drover' for drawer, 'wiil', 'fing', 'hopely', 'sent me it by via portal') and word choice issues ('I would be suggest'). These errors reflect a Band 5.0 level, as they occasionally cause slight strain for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I am writing this letter to ask you for some help...' and 'without it I cannot start my project'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense and verb form mistakes ('I am stayed at your hotel', 'to help me find' instead of 'for finding', 'it is necessary to represent with other employee'). Punctuation and article usage also need improvement. These errors place the grammatical control securely at Band 5.0.
