Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required in the prompt. You state where you left the papers, mentioning room number 11, explain their importance by noting they contain information, tasks, plans, and ideas, and tell the manager what to do by asking them to keep the documents safe until you return. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, while parts like the explanation of importance are somewhat repetitive and lack detailed elaboration. The tone and format are generally appropriate for a semi-formal or formal letter to a manager, fulfilling the core communicative requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical sequence, moving from the greeting and purpose to the explanation, the request, and the sign-off. However, paragraphing is somewhat erratic and lacks standard formatting for letter writing, with excessive spacing and compressed sentences. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences and repetitive linking phrases like 'So'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronouns that do not clearly point back to their antecedents, which impacts the smooth progression of ideas throughout the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

An adequate range of vocabulary is attempted for the task, though there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word forms. For example, 'radiant health' is an awkward collocation, 'nessery' contains a spelling error, and 'returing' and 'recive' also show spelling inaccuracies. You attempt less common vocabulary items such as 'documents' and 'immedaitaly', but inaccuracies in spelling and word choice persist. Nevertheless, the vocabulary remains minimally adequate for the reader to grasp the core meaning of your message without complete breakdown in communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing displays a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that often contain errors. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions, verb forms, and tenses, such as 'I was stay in', 'We have write', and 'reply me soon' instead of replying to me. Punctuation and article usage also show frequent inaccuracies, such as missing articles ('in my country', 'in sypres') and incorrect capitalization. These errors require some effort from the reader to decode the intended meaning.
