Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: you suggest the bag was left at reception, explain that it contains important papers and your passport, and ask the manager to help find it. The reason for urgency is also relevant: you need to attend a meeting on Friday and cannot travel without your passport. However, some details are unclear or under-developed, such as whether the papers themselves are needed for the meeting and how the hotel can contact you or return the bag. The response is also 25 words below the required minimum, so it does not provide enough detail to develop the request fully. Add a clear description of the papers and a specific action, such as checking reception and contacting you if the bag is found.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter follows a generally sensible order: you explain your stay and where the bag may be, then describe its importance and make a request. This makes the main purpose understandable. However, the ideas are crowded into a single paragraph, and several short statements are joined or separated awkwardly, for example, “I want to inform you.I attend your hotel Monday at 11 am .and I was stay your hotel one night.” The repeated use of “this bag is very important” also makes the progression feel less smooth. Use separate paragraphs for the circumstances, the importance of the papers, and your requested action. Linking phrases such as “As a result” or “Could you please” would help connect ideas more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central situation, including “important papers,” “passport,” “meeting,” and “reception.” These choices are relevant to the task, but the range is limited and some word choices or spellings make the letter less clear or less natural. For example, “dask” appears to mean “desk,” while “I close this hotel” does not clearly express that you were leaving. “Hand bag” and “help me find this bag” are understandable but could be more precise. Aim for accurate, natural phrases suited to a formal request, such as “checked out,” “left my handbag at reception,” and “locate the bag.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Your message relies mainly on simple sentences, with an attempt to explain a reason using “because.” The basic meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the reader work to understand the timeline. For instance, “I attend your hotel Monday” and “I was stay your hotel one night” need more accurate past-tense forms, while “I leave your hotel Tesday” should describe a completed action. The sentence beginning “without passport i do not go any country” also needs clearer grammatical structure. Practise forming complete past-tense sentences and joining related ideas with “because,” “so,” and “when”; careful sentence boundaries and capitalisation will improve accuracy.
