Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three required points: you identify the papers as being on the “bedside desk,” explain their importance for an upcoming conference and your work, and ask the manager to mail or secure them. The purpose is clear and the tone is generally appropriate. The explanation of why the papers matter is relevant, but “the documents play the most significant role in my meeting” and the reference to your work for the company remain vague; specify what the papers contain or why they are needed. The request could also be more precise by giving contact or delivery details and asking the hotel to confirm whether the papers have been found. These details would make the response more fully developed and effective as a formal letter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information is arranged in a sensible order: you introduce the issue, describe the papers’ importance, make a request, and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “In addition” show how ideas relate. However, some connections feel mechanical, and “Consequently” does not clearly express the relationship between your request and the offer to cover postal charges. The reference “those papers” is understandable, but the letter would progress more smoothly if you stated what action you want first, then explained how you will cover delivery. A clearer sequence and more natural transitions would strengthen the overall flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary suited to a formal request, including “valuable,” “postal charges,” and “I would appreciate it if.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “on of your hotels,” “lost and stolen department,” “most sognificant,” and “passionate work” are not natural or accurate in context. “Vacation period” and “secure them if cannot do so” are also awkward. These issues show that you are attempting some less common expressions, but they are not yet controlled consistently. Choose familiar, precise phrases such as “lost property department,” “important documents,” and “work completed for my company,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter includes a mix of simple and more complex forms, such as “I would appreciate it if you could…” and “I have a conference in upcoming month.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the polite request structure is a useful strength. Some grammatical errors remain, including “I forget” where a past form is needed, “I was staying … enjoying” without a fully natural construction, and “if cannot do so,” which lacks a clear subject. There are also issues with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “in upcoming month” and the comma before “included in this letter.” Review past-tense forms, articles, and complete clauses; improving these points would make the letter more consistently accurate.
