Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to you regarding collection of my crucial documnets which I left at your hotel. I visited your hotel for a business meeting with my client.
Around two days ago, I stayed at your hotel for my business meeting. While returing from there, I might forgot my some important documents at your hotel in the room no. 101.
These documents are very important because without that documents, I cannot go to my hometown. It contains my passport, visa, credit card, and some other miscellanneous documents related to my business. One of my dream business deal would be cancelled if I cannot get it back.
So, if you find these papers and cards at room no. 01, then I humbly request you to please collect my all the documents and place it at any safe location. Make one call to me and I will collect it by tomorrow morning.
Thnak you for your copperation. I am looking forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Shubham Savaliya

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you suggest the papers were left in room 101, explain that they include travel and business documents, and ask the manager to secure them and contact you so you can collect them. The explanation of their importance is supported by the consequences of losing them, including being unable to travel home and a business deal being cancelled. The purpose and requested action remain clear throughout. To make the response more fully developed, clarify the location consistently: you mention room 101 and later room 01. You could also specify how the manager should contact you, such as by telephone, rather than saying only “Make one call to me.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible progression from its purpose, to where the documents may be, why they matter, and what you want the manager to do. Paragraphing helps separate these functions, and phrases such as “These documents are very important because” make the relationship between ideas clear. This gives the response a coherent overall arrangement. Some linking and reference are less controlled, however: “Around two days ago” repeats the timing already implied in the opening, and “it” in “It contains my passport” has an unclear reference because the subject is plural documents. The room number also changes from 101 to 01. More precise referencing and less repetition would make the progression smoother and more flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-appropriate vocabulary, including “crucial documents,” “business meeting,” “passport,” and “safe location,” so the reader can understand the situation and request. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and limit the precision of the vocabulary: “documnets,” “returing,” “miscellanneous,” “Thnak,” and “copperation” are misspelled, while “collection of my crucial documents” does not express the request as naturally as “help locating my documents.” Some phrases are also awkward or imprecise, such as “my all the documents” and “One of my dream business deal.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, especially in the formal request, to make your vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the conditional “if you find these papers … then I humbly request” and the reason clause beginning “because.” The main message is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “I might forgot” should be “I might have forgotten,” and “without that documents” needs a plural form and suitable determiner. “I cannot go to my hometown” is followed by “if I cannot get it back,” where the pronoun does not agree with the plural documents. The request sentence also has awkward structure: “please collect my all the documents and place it.” Practise checking verb forms and matching pronouns to their nouns, while varying sentence patterns accurately.
