Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three bullet points: you say the papers were left in your hotel room, explain that you need them to sell your house, and ask the manager to keep them safely so you can collect them. These details are relevant, but some are under-developed: for example, you could identify the room or describe the papers more specifically, and give a clear collection plan. The explanation of their importance is understandable, though “property documents” could be clarified as documents needed for the sale. The response is 18 words below the required minimum, so it needs more detail to meet the task fully. A fuller, more specific request would strengthen the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with the reason for writing, gives the circumstances and importance of the papers, and ends with a request. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points. However, the linking words “Moreover” and “Furthermore” feel mechanical and do not always show a meaningful relationship between ideas; the second paragraph could simply continue the explanation without a formal connector. Some references are also unclear, particularly “it” in “I will not lose it,” which refers to plural documents. To improve progression, connect each paragraph more directly to the purpose of the letter and use pronouns that clearly refer to the papers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range for this letter, including relevant expressions such as “important documents,” “property documents,” and “as soon as possible.” The reader can understand the main message, and “vividly remember” shows an attempt to use more precise vocabulary. Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “it is to difficult too sell house” contains confusing word forms, while “save my documents” is not the natural phrase for asking a hotel to look after them. “Really important papers” is also repetitive and could be expressed more precisely. Aim for natural collocations such as “securely store the documents” and “essential paperwork,” while keeping the language appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple sentences and more developed structures, including “I am writing… regarding the papers that I left” and “I was in a hurry… and could not realize…”. The main meaning remains clear despite some grammatical errors. For example, “it is to difficult too sell house” has errors in the infinitive construction and article use, and “I will not lose it” does not agree with the plural “documents.” The request “I hope you could help me” also shifts awkwardly between present and past modal forms. Review articles, singular/plural agreement, and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for these issues.
