Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the three main points: you identify room 224, explain that the papers relate to an upcoming doctor’s appointment, and ask the manager to search the room. However, the response is under the required 150 words, and the ideas are only briefly developed. For example, “my personal document” does not clarify what the papers are, and the request does not explain how the manager should contact you or arrange their return. The reason for their importance is relevant, but the wording about the appointment is unclear. Add specific details about the papers, explain the consequences of losing them, and make a clear, practical request to complete the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce the problem, explain why the papers matter, and make a request. The paragraph breaks also help distinguish these stages. Linking expressions such as “because” and “Hence” show an attempt to connect ideas, and the reader can generally follow the purpose. However, some connections are awkward or unclear, particularly “I have this meeting is very beneficial for me,” and the first paragraph runs several ideas together with little punctuation. Separate the information into clear sentences and use transitions that express the relationship precisely. A closing request and contact details would also give the letter a more complete progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the basic situation, with relevant terms such as “personal document,” “appointment,” and “search my room.” However, the range is limited, and several noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts of the message difficult to understand. “Magnificant” does not naturally describe the importance of papers; “valuable” or “essential” would fit better. “Personal docter” contains a spelling error, while “I want to help with this matter” does not express your intended request to the manager. Choose precise phrases such as “I would be grateful if you could look for the documents” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses with “because,” but the response relies mainly on simple structures, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty. For example, “Last two days ago me and my family members stay at your hotel” has problems with time expression, subject form, and verb tense. In “When we left this place, by mistake my personal document left here in my room 224,” the passive construction is incomplete and the sentence structure is unclear. There are also punctuation problems, including missing spaces after full stops and commas joining separate clauses. Practise accurate past-tense sentences and clear request forms, then proofread sentence boundaries and articles.
