Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three required points: you identify the hotel room and date, explain that the papers are needed for a visa and university admission, and ask the manager to keep them safe for your brother to collect. These details make the purpose clear and the request actionable. The explanation of importance is particularly relevant, naming a graduate certificate and transcript. To make the response more fully developed, clarify where in the hotel you believe you left the papers; the room number and the fact that you noticed after checkout do not specify whether they were in the room or at the meeting. You could also give a more precise collection date and contact details so the manager can arrange this confidently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a sensible letter structure: you explain what happened, describe why the documents matter, and then make a request. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “As” and “Thus” show the relationship between ideas. The closing is also appropriate in intent. Some connections are less clear because phrases such as “After the check out when I cross the city board” are difficult to follow, and “Thus” introduces a fragment rather than a complete concluding thought. Improve progression by stating the discovery clearly, then linking it directly to the request. A more conventional sign-off and consistent paragraph spacing would also make the letter easier to read.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “visa process,” “graduate certificate,” “transcript,” and “collect,” so the reader can understand the main purpose. However, the range and control are limited, with noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that sometimes make the message harder to interpret. Examples include “collage documents,” “admisson,” “foregen univerisy,” “envolped,” and “assesstain.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “keep this papers safely” and “vital doucments.” Check spelling carefully and learn common formal-letter collocations. More precise wording for the location of the papers and the requested handling would help you communicate the practical details clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response attempts both simple and more developed sentences, for example, “As I am planning to go abroad for higher study…” and “If possible then keep the documents…”. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “I am request you,” “this papers means,” and “which necessary to take admission,” where the grammatical relationships are incomplete or incorrect. The opening account also combines clauses without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and articles. For instance, make the request a complete sentence and separate the discovery from the travel detail.
