Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three required points: you identify the likely location as the bedside drawer in room 345, explain that the papers contain details for a business trip and are needed for a meeting, and ask the manager to send them to your office. These details make the purpose clear and keep the response focused. The explanation of the papers’ importance is relevant, though it could be developed more precisely by stating what the meeting is about or why the information cannot be replaced. The request would also be stronger if you specified that the manager should check the drawer and contact you before arranging delivery. Overall, the key ideas are extended sufficiently, with some room for more specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a sensible order: you introduce yourself and the reason for writing, describe where the papers may be, explain their importance, and make a request. The paragraph break also helps distinguish the opening from the main details. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. For example, “On the left side of the bed, Inside the drawer” repeats the location, while “If you can help me to send them” moves abruptly from explaining the papers to the request. The closing, “Hoping that considering my request,” is incomplete and does not provide a clear final step. Use clearer transitions and complete the closing thought to make the progression more consistently easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “important documents,” “business trip,” “present,” and “office address,” so the reader can understand the purpose of the letter. There are also attempts at a formal register, such as “I hope this letter finds you…”. However, several inaccurate or misspelled choices reduce precision: “important thinks” should be “important things” or “documents,” “by mistaken” should be “by mistake,” and “remarks” does not clearly describe the information in the papers. “Radiant health and the best of spirits” is also overly elaborate for a straightforward hotel request. Aim for natural, precise phrases such as “I may have left some documents behind” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message remains understandable. However, errors in tense, articles, agreement, and sentence construction occur across the letter. For example, “I stay in your hotel on 23rd… last week” needs a past-tense form and clearer date phrasing; “It was on of the best decision” has errors in the article, spelling, and number; and “I check all my stuff” should use a past-tense verb. The sentence beginning “On the left side of the bed” also lacks a clear grammatical connection to the next clause, and “Hoping that considering my request” is incomplete. Practise accurate past-tense narration and complete sentence patterns, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
