Student answer (Band 5.5)

Majority of people said that in schools as well as in universities too much time is wasting in just theortical knowledge instead of practical skills. I completely agree with the statement and I will describe my view regarding this notion.

First of all, learning facts is also important as our practical skills. learning is just a key to pass the examination although practical knowledge gives the individual permanent knowledge of anything. For instance, students learning a novel from a book written by Chetan Bhagat, instead he watching same novel on the T.V by the same writer. The students understand more better by watching in Television instead of just memorising from any books.

Practical skills gives us permanent learning. Nobody in this world need to memorising again the same thing by practical practice.

Although, theortical knowledge is also important in learning few details like history dates, ex politicans birtdays, our past ministers,P.M,C.M. Individual should spend more time in hands on experience and getting know of any tasks. For example, Medical Students did their hands on experience on pateints, dummies and artifical models to master in their field. Learning a specific treatment without their practical skill You cannot accomplish any goal.

In conclusion, practical knowledge is far better than just learning techniques, although learing plays an important role in learning our history. Governments should takes the responsibility to invest more time in practical skills in all schools and universities and just give little preference to learning techniques. So we can remember everything throughout our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: “I completely agree,” and the conclusion maintains this view by recommending more time for practical skills. You give relevant reasons, including the lasting value of hands-on learning, and the medical-student example helps illustrate how practice supports professional competence. This addresses the question, but some points are less fully developed than others. The example about understanding a novel better on television is not clearly connected to practical skills, and the list of historical facts (dates and politicians’ birthdays) is asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how practical learning should complement factual knowledge and develop each example to show why it supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Although” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The novel example shifts from practical skills to watching television, and the sentence “Nobody in this world need to memorising again…” is not clearly linked to the preceding point. Some connections are mechanical or imprecise, particularly the use of “Although” to introduce the paragraph about theoretical knowledge. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and exemplify it in sequence; use pronouns and linking expressions only where their references are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “practical skills,” “hands on experience,” “examination” and “accomplish any goal,” so the reader can follow the general argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas difficult to interpret. For example, “permanent knowledge” is not a natural way to describe learning that lasts, and “learning a novel” does not clearly express what students do with a book. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “theortical,” “politicans” and “artifical.” Build a more precise vocabulary for education and learning, and check spelling and common word partnerships before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast introduced by “although” and a conditional idea in “without their practical skill You cannot accomplish any goal.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to form more complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in examples such as “too much time is wasting,” “Practical skills gives us,” and “Governments should takes.” Other sentences have incomplete or unclear structures, including “For instance, students learning a novel from a book…” and the sentence beginning “Nobody in this world need…”. These problems can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns, then use a wider range of structures with careful punctuation.
