Student answer (Band 7.0)

In today's fast-paced world, individuals hold diverse opinions on a wide range of topics. Regarding the issue of theoretical knowledge over practical experience , opinions are divided, with some supporting it while others oppose it. In my view, this is a welcome suggestion, and its implementation may been certain merits.

Those in favor of practical skills argue that it fosters critical thinking, team -work, communication, and adaptability in students. Because it prepares students for every day life and the workplace. For instance, practical knowledge in finance , cooking, first aid helps individuals to grow on their own without any external help. Moreover, these activities improve their problem-solving skills , to resolve obstacles in their lives, which strengthens the case for field experience in education system.

Conversely, opponents might argue that without theoretical knowledge, practical skills may have limited depth. To illustrate, An engineer may know how to use construction tools, but without understanding physics and structural designs, they could build unsafe buildings. This viewpoint highlights the potential risk associated with having only practical tactics. Secondly, it also helps people to understand the world and make informed decisions such as in professions like medicine and law. Real case studies as well as universal facts helps them to make wise decisions.

In conclusion, the debate surrounding education system is multifaceted, with valid arguments on both sides. While supporters emphasize the benefits, opponents raise important consideration. Ultimately, a balanced approach that considers various perspectives is essential in navigating complex issues such as academic or practical knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both theoretical and practical education. However, the position is somewhat ambiguous. In the introduction, you state the suggestion is 'welcome,' but you do not clearly argue for or against the balance throughout the body paragraphs. The ideas are relevant, but the development is slightly uneven; for example, the argument regarding the engineer is strong, but the conclusion remains neutral rather than reinforcing a clear stance. To improve, ensure your position is consistent and clearly stated in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'Conversely,' and 'To illustrate' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the link between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be more seamless. Overall, the structure is coherent and follows a standard academic format, which helps the reader follow your argument without difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'multifaceted,' 'adaptability,' and 'theoretical knowledge' appropriately. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'its implementation may been certain merits,' which is grammatically incorrect and lexically awkward. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, some collocations are slightly unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on using precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'its implementation may been certain merits' and 'universal facts helps them.' Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the space before the comma in 'team -work' and 'experience ,'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your control over subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor punctuation slips will significantly improve your accuracy.
