Student answer (Band 6.5)
Education, which is one of the most powerful tools in the world, has potential to transform individual life in a profound and meaningful way. Some people believe that formal education from grade one to universities takes significant amount of time from student's life and it mainly focuses on learning theories than practical skills. I strongly agree with this as curriculum is designed by education specialist and learning centers have limited resources.
One of the main reasons for giving main focus on learning facts is that the curriculum is designed by ministry of education and educational specialist. They are the educational expert who have greater knowledge about checking student's knowledge and abilities. If student have theoritical knowledge they have ability to use them in their future employment. For instance, to become a doctor, engineer or scientist, Student should have proper and expert knowledge of science and mathematics. As a result schools and universities spend more time on learning theories rather that hands on experience. After student complete all theoritical concept, secondly, they focuses on gaining practical skills.
The other reason is acquiring practical skills requires significant amount of resources such as laboratory facilities, equipment, and trained teachers or assistant. Most schools and educational institutions unable to provide those facilities because of it's high cost. Therefore, many educational institutions primarily focus on the teaching theory.
To conclude, many people say that educational institutes from primary school to universities spend much significant amount of time on classroom learning and not focus on practical skills. I completely agree with this statement as it is a decision of educational specialist and requires significant amount of resources for acquiring hands on experience. However, gove

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed the prompt and maintained a clear position throughout. You provided two main reasons for your agreement: the role of curriculum designers and the high cost of practical resources. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that schools lack resources, you could have provided a more concrete example of how this impacts a student's readiness for the workforce. Additionally, the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence, which means the conclusion is incomplete and the final summary is missing. To reach a higher band, ensure your arguments are fully extended with specific examples and always complete your concluding paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use some cohesive devices such as 'One of the main reasons,' 'For instance,' and 'The other reason.' However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical transitions and some awkward phrasing. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Most schools and educational institutions unable to provide those facilities because of it's high cost,' where the pronoun reference is slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending significantly impacts the overall coherence of the final section. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring a complete, well-structured conclusion would strengthen this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'curriculum,' 'theoretical knowledge,' and 'hands-on experience.' There are some instances of word-choice errors and minor inaccuracies, such as 'learning theories than practical skills' (should be 'rather than') and 'educational specialist' (should be plural). You also repeat certain phrases like 'significant amount of' multiple times, which limits the flexibility of your lexical range. To improve, try to use more varied synonyms and ensure that collocations are used accurately. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your ideas, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'student have theoritical knowledge'), missing articles (e.g., 'If student have'), and punctuation errors (e.g., 'it's' instead of 'its'). Additionally, there are some awkward sentence constructions that occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to incorporate more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
