Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people say that in all levels of education, from primary schools to universities, too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.
The debate surrounding all education from primary school to universities, too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills. has gained significant traction in contemporary discourse. While some hold opposing views, I am of the firm conviction that i strongly agree primarily because primary school and universities serve as the bedrock for this development. This essay will substantiate why these factors are critical. The most compelling argument for this stance is that primary school facilitates unprecedented growth. By prioritizing this, we can bypass traditional limitations that often hinder progress. For instance, my younger brother study in primary school and he was joined the school last year demonstrates how this approach optimizes output, providing a substantial advantage in modern scenarios.
Furthermore, the strategic importance of universities cannot be overlooked. In contrast to conventional models that fail to adapt to current challenges, this method offers the necessary infrastructure for sustainability. A pertinent example is that a student of universities, and i join the last 2 years which highlights the transformative impact of this strategy on long-term outcomes.
In conclusion, the merits of primary school and universities are irrefutable. I firmly believe that this approach is the most viable path forward for those seeking development. Ultimately, stakeholders should endeavor to prioritize these elements to ensure superior, high quality results.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but fails to develop the core argument regarding the balance between 'facts' and 'practical skills'. Instead of discussing why one might be prioritized over the other, the essay makes vague, repetitive claims about the importance of schools and universities. The examples provided, such as the mention of a younger brother or the author's own university experience, are anecdotal and lack the depth required to support a persuasive argument. The position is stated, but the reasoning is underdeveloped and lacks specific evidence or logical progression to justify the stance effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is disjointed. The introduction contains a fragmented sentence that repeats the prompt, which disrupts the logical progression. While some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' are used, they often connect ideas that are not clearly linked or fully explained. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure feels mechanical rather than a natural development of an argument. The essay lacks a clear, cohesive thread that guides the reader through the writer's reasoning.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and relies on generic phrases like 'significant traction', 'firm conviction', and 'transformative impact'. While these words are used correctly in isolation, they are often used to mask a lack of specific content. There is little evidence of a wide range of vocabulary related to the topic of education or pedagogy. The word choice is adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. Some phrasing, such as 'my younger brother study in primary school', shows limited control over collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains several grammatical errors that impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'my younger brother study' and 'he was joined the school'. Sentence structure is often awkward, particularly in the introduction where a sentence is left incomplete. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are frequently marred by errors in tense and word order. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary periods appearing mid-sentence. The range of structures is limited, and the frequency of errors is high enough to cause some difficulty for the reader.
