Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, there has many changes brought on education system. But, I felt that practical skills are not given same importance with the text book learning. I strongly agree with the given statement that, too much time spending on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.
To begin with, in this corporate world the skilled jobs are more available than the management jobs. Even though, the industries have shortage of skilled labors all the time. The students who graduate from colleges have good knowledge in theory but they are really weak in practical knowledge. The main reason behind this is the colleges are not providing enough practical classes for the students. Also, most of the colleges are insufficient with the practical labs and equipment.
Another thing is , from the beginning of school life students are pressurized to byheart the theory portions and given less importance to practical skills. This made students less confident when they start their career. Less practical experience, hinder themselves from getting promotions in their own jobs.
However, spending more time on learning theories also help the students to understand the basics. They could also use it to improve their working skills.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that too much time is given for learning textbooks and not enough time for learning practical skills. THis will negatively effect the students. So, both practucal and theory knowledge is important

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the lack of practical skills in the corporate world and the pressure to memorize theory, the arguments remain somewhat superficial and lack specific, illustrative examples. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which restricts your ability to fully develop your points. To improve, ensure you provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your claims, and aim to meet the word count requirement to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. While you use basic linking words like 'To begin with' and 'In conclusion', the overall flow would benefit from a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect ideas more naturally. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the progression of ideas is more fluid throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on some repetitive phrasing, such as 'practical skills' and 'learning facts'. There are also some minor word-choice errors, such as 'byheart' (which is not standard English) and 'insufficient with' (which should be 'lack' or 'have insufficient'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with greater sophistication and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'there has many changes brought on education system' (should be 'there have been many changes to the education system') and 'too much time spending' (should be 'too much time is spent'). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on proofreading for basic tense and agreement errors.
