Student answer (Band 5.5)

The topic has attracted considerable attention in recent years is the waster management and recycling waste. Some people believe that government should make laws to control waste and encourage people to recycle it while others believe is it public responsibility. I firmly believe that both public and law maker have equal responsibility to make a healthy environment.

On the one hand , recycling can save money. There are many different items that people use daily life and throw them after using a while. If people use products with some creative way they can able to innovate new things by the waste products.as a example people can use glass jar again in their kitchen for different purpose. This way not only save the money but also give a mental pleasure. People can also make a startup with this idea. Many environmentalist are encourages people to invent new ideas how to keep control these recycling waste .

Another way government can also create laws and encourages people by arrange campaign. Government can provide different waste boxes and provide it in houses, schools, parks and different public places . This will must be help people and provide some specialist who can encourages people about how to control waste .for example japan have laws how to manage their waste and they also concern about their environment. They also teach children how to recycle waste product in school . So they aware about this matter from their childhood.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that the best way to address this matter is to combine as both approaches. This would improve peoples quality of life. Society has a whole would benefit from this changes. Practical measures are essential for sustainable development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for a discussion on whether too much time is spent on learning facts versus practical skills in education. However, the essay discusses waste management and recycling. Because the response does not address the task question at all, it fails to meet the requirements of the prompt. While the ideas regarding waste management are developed, they are irrelevant to the specific question posed. Consequently, the response cannot be assessed on its ability to develop an argument related to the educational system, resulting in a low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. The writer uses some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Another way', and 'In conclusion'. However, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between ideas is occasionally mechanical. While the paragraphing is present, the lack of relevance to the prompt makes the overall coherence difficult to follow in the context of the requested task. The structure is sufficient for a higher band, but the content fails to support the logical development of the actual topic.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, though it is somewhat repetitive and limited in range. The writer uses words like 'innovate', 'environmentalist', and 'sustainable development', which show an attempt to use topic-specific language. However, there are errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'waster management' instead of 'waste management' and 'creative way' instead of 'creative manner'. The range is sufficient to convey basic meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'they can able to innovate', 'as a example', and 'this will must be help'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the frequency of mistakes in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the score. The writer attempts complex structures, but these are often faulty, indicating a need for more practice with sentence formation and grammatical accuracy.
