Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern world, Education is the key of success in our life. As some people believe that in schools and institute from different classes like from primary to higher level of education, most of the schools only focus on the factual learning and not paying attention on the practical academic skills. We will discuss both the point of views with the relevant examples in the below passages.
From one hand, some folks have the opinion on the schools and universities about not giving the practical education to the children's and only focuses on the academic facts. For example, the knowledge of facts is important part of the education life as if the students do not have the knowledge of facts they can not able to succeed in their life as doctor's need facts about the anatomy of human body without facts they can not able to give the proper advice to the people.
On the other hand, the knowledge of practical skills is also really important in our day to day life also. For instance, without laboratory work like in chemistry we need to perform some type of experiment. However, scientist need to test the experiment so they need practical skills to succeed their work. Moreover, in some of the courses er need to do the group presentation with some of the actual projects which helps the people understand the concept easily.
To conclude, from my perspective I agreed that the some of the academies only focus on the factual and not focus on the practical learning. As in our life we need both of the skills it is really important to having the both of the knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention both factual and practical learning, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the example regarding doctors is relevant but could be expanded to explain why practical skills are specifically lacking in current curricula. Furthermore, the introduction states you will discuss 'both points of view,' but the prompt asks for your opinion on whether you agree or disagree. Your position is only clearly stated in the conclusion, which makes the overall argument feel slightly disjointed. To improve, ensure your position is clear from the introduction and provide more detailed, specific examples to support your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'From one hand' (should be 'On the one hand') and 'in the below passages' are unnatural. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by these awkward transitions. While there is a logical flow from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion, the links between sentences could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects back to your main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'Education is the key of success' (should be 'key to success') and 'academies' (which usually refers to specific institutions rather than schools in general). You rely on basic vocabulary and repeat terms like 'facts' and 'practical skills' frequently. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms. For example, instead of repeating 'important,' use words like 'crucial,' 'essential,' or 'paramount' to demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('scientist need to test,' 'I agreed that the some of the academies'), incorrect pluralisation ('children's'), and awkward phrasing ('they can not able to'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels clunky. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms. Increasing your control over complex sentences will also help you achieve a higher score.
