Student answer (Band 5.5)

Education is very important but many individuals relates that in every academic level from the secondary to higher levels most of the time is used in educating the stuff and do not give proper time on performing the task practically. In this eassy i will explain the importance of practical skills and the learning facts.

In my opinion education is very important because there is not only one benifit of getting education it improves someones repute in the society although there are only few educated people in the society who are taking the society along with them and are able to educate the other individuals of the surroundings. Then according to my point of view the need of time is to educate more and more people for the improvement of the society. As an example there are a lot of people in the rural areas who have a lot of skills but lack of education so as a result they can not achieve big things

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 164 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay introduces the topic and attempts to state an opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth or relevant examples to support the position. The discussion remains superficial, and the prompt's requirement to discuss the balance between facts and practical skills is not fully explored. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and a body paragraph. However, the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'and' and 'because'. Paragraphing is present but the transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. The lack of sufficient length prevents the development of a clear, coherent argument throughout the text. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'educating the stuff' instead of 'teaching academic content' and 'repute' used in a context that is not entirely natural. Spelling errors like 'eassy' and 'benifit' also detract from the overall quality. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to express your ideas more precisely and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many individuals relates') and sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and missing punctuation. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often faulty. For instance, 'although there are only few educated people... who are taking the society along with them' is grammatically confusing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
