Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the current focus on theory. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide examples like medical and construction fields, the explanation of why the current system persists (e.g., 'pessimistic approach of parents') is a bit underdeveloped and lacks clarity. The essay ends abruptly, which prevents a full conclusion and impacts the overall task completion. To improve, ensure each body paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your conclusion effectively synthesizes your main points rather than trailing off.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'To recapitulate' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'The reason being is the continuation in the traditional method'. Additionally, the abrupt ending significantly affects the coherence of the final section. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences connect logically to one another without relying on repetitive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'academic institution', 'cognitive skills', and 'vocational'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice or awkward collocations, such as 'theoretical part is more acknowledge' (should be 'acknowledged') and 'bookish world'. Some phrases are slightly unnatural, which limits the precision of your argument. To reach a higher band, try to use more sophisticated collocations and ensure that your word forms are accurate, such as using 'theoretical knowledge' instead of 'theoretical part'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Students needs to expand' (subject-verb agreement), 'there must a balance' (missing verb), and 'which relatively are less beneficial' (word order). Punctuation is generally functional, but the incomplete final sentence is a major issue. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed with correct syntax. Proofreading for minor slips will help you achieve a higher score.
