Student answer (Band 6.5)

Nowadays, graduates are struggling to look for employment opportunities due to lack of skills and knowledge require some jobs. Therefore, some individuals thinks that too much time is wasted by students from primary schools to high schools on learning theoretical knowledge than gaining practical education. I strongly agree with this viewpoint and the following paragraphs will discuss reasons responsible for this before reaching a logical conclusion.

There are several significant reasons due to which only focused is given to facts rather to practical skills. The primary reason is that graduates are struggling to find any jobs after the completion of their degrees. Because the competition is increased a lot and world demamds individuals which are highly skilled and professional in their fields. Therefore, individuals who lacks any skills find it very challenging to find employment. As a result, they also face mental health problems such as depression and anxiety etc.

Another compelling reason for this is that education system of some nations still based on teaching theoretical knowlege and more importance is given to grades than to other skills. Some studens are good in other areas such as they are creative, confident and strong determination despite achieving average marks in studies. However, only importance is given to top pereforming stduents due to which brilliant students lose opportunities and forced to learn facts rather than developing or sharpening their skills. Therefore, education system is designed in a way which gives preference to theotrical learning than parctical learning.

To conclude, after the careful consideration of the above mentioned reasons, it is very important for government to implement smart learning strategies in schools and design the education system in a way to encourage the practical learning along with learning facts. This approach will not only help students but also give briilant scientist, doctors etc. to the society and help to improve the overall economic growth of a nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The response addresses the prompt by discussing why too much time is spent on facts and the consequences of this. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that graduates struggle to find jobs, you could have provided a more specific example of a practical skill that is currently missing from the curriculum to strengthen your argument. The ideas are relevant, but they could be extended further to reach a higher band. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'The primary reason is', and 'To conclude' to guide the reader. However, some of the transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the link between the competition for jobs and the mention of mental health is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and each paragraph has a clear central topic, which helps the overall readability of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'employment opportunities', 'theoretical knowledge', and 'economic growth'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'demamds', 'knowlege', 'studens', 'pereforming', 'stduents', 'theotrical', 'parctical', and 'briilant'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable, though they do not generally impede communication. To improve, you should focus on proofreading your work to catch these slips and attempt to incorporate more sophisticated collocations or less common lexical items to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of your writing. Examples include 'some individuals thinks' (subject-verb agreement), 'knowledge require some jobs' (missing preposition/relative clause), and 'education system of some nations still based on' (missing auxiliary verb). While your meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions would significantly improve your score.
