Student answer (Band 5.5)

Knowledge is the key of success for every person in the world. Person with practical skills have more potentials in today's technological world. I am agree with the given statement and in following paragraph we will discuss the reasons for it and how we can improve it.

First of all, in modern era we witnesses the competition in each field. Everyone do their best and wants to get first in their class. Our education system it self fail to provide accurate knowledge of practical skills in syllabus. They have put so much effort in theory knowledge and forgot to mention real skills which need to live a peaceful life. We have seen students got depressed with their studies, sometime they got very frustrated and commit suicide. Example like students him self cut their hands or jumped from building because they could not bear the pressure.

Furthermore, this kind of system is run in every educational institutes. They thinks that students are machines and they have to act according to their need. Some institute divide classes according to students merit and which increase competition between students. This way students looses their physical ability and as a result, we have seen so many students who are physically very week. With modern education system many students reduces their vision due to excessive use of electronic devises.

In the end, we can change our carriculum and address skill base education. This way students learn practical knowledge and develop their ability. Those actions definitely improve future generations ability on hoe life goes and they have to see world out side their books.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and establishes a clear position in favor of practical skills. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the pressure of the current system, the examples provided—such as students committing suicide—are extreme and not well-integrated into a balanced argument about educational curriculum. To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more nuanced, logical arguments regarding why practical skills are beneficial (e.g., employability, problem-solving) rather than relying on emotive, anecdotal claims. The conclusion is brief and does not fully summarize the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'In the end' is not the most appropriate way to introduce a conclusion, and 'Example like' is grammatically incorrect and lacks a proper transition. Some sentences are disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel slightly repetitive. Improving the variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'we witnesses' instead of 'we witness', 'theory knowledge' instead of 'theoretical knowledge', and 'physically very week' instead of 'weak'. You also use 'carriculum' (spelling error) and 'devises' (should be 'devices'). To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that you use the correct word form (noun vs. adjective) in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Everyone do their best', 'They thinks'), article usage ('the competition in each field'), and sentence structure ('Example like students him self cut their hands'). There is a limited range of complex structures, and the ones attempted often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of pronouns, before attempting more complex, multi-clause sentences.
