Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt, but the position is inconsistent and confusing. In the introduction, you state you 'quibble' (disagree) with the idea that too much time is spent on facts, yet the second paragraph provides evidence supporting the idea that schools focus too much on facts. This contradiction makes it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. Furthermore, the ideas are under-developed and lack clear logical progression. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which prevents a clear summary of your position. To improve, ensure your stance is clearly defined in the introduction and maintained consistently throughout the essay, with each paragraph supporting that specific viewpoint.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by confusing transitions and unclear referencing. Phrases like 'What is half full for some, may appear half empty to others' are used as fillers rather than logical connectors, which obscures the development of your argument. Cohesive devices are often used incorrectly or in a mechanical fashion, such as 'Withal' and 'In recapitulation'. The lack of a completed final paragraph significantly impacts the overall coherence of the response. To improve, focus on using simple, clear linking words to connect your ideas and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that relates directly to your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is often misused, leading to awkward phrasing that can impede understanding. For example, 'I quibble from them' is an incorrect collocation, and 'hauls me to patron' is unclear. You attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary like 'multifarious' and 'recapitulation', but these are often used out of context. There are also frequent errors in word formation and choice, such as 'elementory' (spelling) and 'disturbs' (used as a noun). To improve, focus on mastering common collocations and using words you are confident about. Avoid using complex words just to sound academic if you are not certain of their precise meaning or usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that affect readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('time spend to learning', 'too much time spends'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are often fragmented or run-on, such as 'In this concurrent world, It is undoubtedly true that most of the time spend to learning facts...'. The complexity of your sentences is limited, and the errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb. Proofreading for simple errors like 'sylabus' and 'quate' would also be beneficial.
