Student answer (Band 5.0)

Most of the people believe that in all levels of education from primary schools to universities, most of the time spend on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills. I practically agree discuss as follow.

The primary reason i agree is that children should know the facts every time before they do anything that is the main reason why they spent more time in learning facts. Every time facts will help them to grow in there carries and become the successful person in life and they cam motivate other to became like them. Moreover, in schools they teaches subject on theory because there is no practical class required for that subject. For example, in school there is subject like Hindi in these subject there is no practical class required.

Furthermore, schools should had to set practical section for the subject like sports and science etc. children will understand fast by practical knowledge then theory. However, at primary schools student can learn faster by seeing the practical model. For example, any student studying in class 3rd if he see the model of loin he can feel it and understand more about it easily then theory.

In conclusion , I firmly agree that more time is spend on learning facts and not giving enough time on practical skills. However, they should balance the time for theory class and practical class too. For example if one of the student want to eat watermelon he knows the how to cut that but he never try to cut itself he cannot eat it because he do not have practical skills how to cut it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons for your stance, the arguments are often repetitive or lack depth. For instance, the second paragraph attempts to justify the importance of facts but then shifts to a discussion about school subjects without fully connecting these points to the core issue of 'practical skills' versus 'facts'. The conclusion introduces a new, somewhat confusing example about cutting a watermelon, which does not effectively synthesize the previous arguments. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly relates to the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'I practically agree discuss as follow' is an awkward opening, and the transition 'However' is used incorrectly in the final paragraph to introduce an example rather than a contrast. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the pronoun 'they' in the second paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'facts', 'skills', and 'subjects'. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'grow in there carries' (careers) and 'teaches subject on theory'. Some phrases are also grammatically awkward, such as 'set practical section'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common words and more precise collocations related to the topic of education and pedagogy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('schools they teaches', 'time is spend'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple, and attempts at complex structures often result in errors, such as 'if one of the student want to eat watermelon he knows the how to cut that but he never try to cut itself'. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for verb tenses and pluralization will significantly improve your score.
