Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education plays a significant role in shaping child's development for further life. Some people argue that from primary schools to universities a lot of time devoted to academic studies whereas there is no enough time to spend on practical skills. I agree with this statement as there must be an equal approach in between practical and academic studies because both are equally important to learn for better lifestyle of a young ones.
To begin with, the schools and universities are more inclined towards theoretical studies such as mathematics, science and history as teacher thinks these subject are essential to learnt by each individual. For example, a person can not have any opportunity until they do not have higher studies and enable to do calculation. Moreover, intellectual education is very crucial to learn to tackle all the theoretical challenges in the life.
However, skill-based education is undeniable as this shape a children by focusing on the main concepts to live a peaceful life for example, time-management skills, communication skills, money saving skills and teamwork they all are the best part of life to learn and manage everything harmoniously. Furthermore, a person can achieve a higher position with the help of higher academic studies but until or unless not capable to deal with others they do not have knowledge about practical skills.
In conclusion, although the schools and universities education are more considerable, there should be equal time to shape practical skills as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement (242 words), which necessitates a penalty. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the argument regarding 'money saving skills' is introduced but not fully explored or supported with a concrete example. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your supporting points with more detailed explanations or personal examples to ensure the response is sufficiently developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'until or unless not capable to deal with others'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between 'higher studies' and 'calculation' feels disjointed. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words will help elevate your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'theoretical challenges', 'harmoniously', and 'inclined towards'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'no enough time' (should be 'not enough'), 'better lifestyle of a young ones' (should be 'young people'), and 'teacher thinks these subject are essential to learnt' (should be 'teachers think these subjects are essential to learn'). These errors occasionally impede the flow of your writing, though the meaning remains clear throughout.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('teacher thinks these subject'), article usage ('a child's development'), and sentence fragments or awkward phrasing ('until or unless not capable to deal with others'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these errors means that while communication is not blocked, the reader is constantly aware of the inaccuracies. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
