Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that some believe that education at learning institute wastes much time on providing lessons on facts instead of giving practical skills, which help an individual to stand in the market. I strongly agree on this nation because practical knowledge renders real life experience and initiate confidence at an early age.
The main reason why I agree to this is capability. If people spend much time on a ground level, they can learn many important things such as patience, discipline, hardwork, and dedication. This is because of real experience that gives ground reality to the learners. For instance, in the heating and cooling industries, although people get numerous certification, the lack of knowledge on tool handling and longer relentless work force them to quit the profession at initial stage. Therefore, getting bookish knowledge is not enough to survive, people should experience real life hurdle to cope up with future demand.
Moreover, academic facts often improve personality and enhances their knowledge. People solve many algorithm situations and mathematical problems at school age, which often helpful in real life. The majority of companies never ask for the academic scores, they ask jobseeker to relove the business case study, which also helps them to find a suitable candidate for the position. The practical skill is not only make a person capable to finish real task but also boost their confidence to meet any uncertain situatuion. For example, during pandemic, many people struggled with financial crisis, but then hair dressers earned stable income for livelihood even in wrost situations.
To conclude, although academic knowledge may have numerous benefits, by getting both the theortical and practical knowledge make a person ideal for multiple job opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of trade skills versus academic theory. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The second paragraph introduces the idea of 'capability' but the explanation is slightly disjointed, and the example regarding heating and cooling industries is a bit vague. The third paragraph attempts to balance the argument but becomes slightly contradictory by suggesting academic facts are helpful after arguing they are a waste of time. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed argument that directly supports your thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'To conclude'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical or abrupt. For example, the transition between the discussion of 'bookish knowledge' and 'real life hurdle' lacks smooth connectivity. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'I strongly agree on this nation', which appears to be a misuse of the word 'notion'. While the overall structure is coherent, the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible or accurate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. Phrases like 'stand in the market', 'ground level', and 'relove the business case study' are unnatural. There are also spelling errors such as 'situatuion', 'wrost', and 'theortical'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling mistakes limit the score. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The practical skill is not only make a person'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing ('I strongly agree on this nation'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure often feels repetitive. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical consistency would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
