Student answer (Band 6.0)
A number of population have thought that school provide a lot of theoretical knowledge which quite time taking which is not enough as one need to be practically implemented the skills learn in the institutes. I am totally agree that practical makes a person much more skillful as compared to bookish understanding.
It can be clearly noticed around us that practical implement is always fruitful. The task one has performed by their hands may or may not be successful but even if it is not succeeded still person can able to judge himself what or where he is wrong. For example Albert Einstein the discover of light bulb got failed 10000 times before he had invented bulb for us. Not only this real life implementation of something makes a person prefect and confident into his life. To illustrate if a medical student never inject someone in his life he will always afraid of it but after certain patients he would be confident and may teach their juniors in future as well.
One can not ever ignore the importance of learning through books as they form the base of person. One should know before the hand what to do only then it can be decided whether to go ahead for not. To exemplify, to construct any building one should be able to calculate the estimations of spending by the knowledge or learning that he had learned during his university time.
To conclude, the theory must be taught as it is a foundation but there should be focus towards implementation as it improves the qualities of a person.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of practical skills. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The example of Albert Einstein is factually incorrect (he did not invent the light bulb), which weakens the argument's credibility. While the medical student example is relevant and well-explained, the overall depth of the argument is limited. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the reasoning could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief but summarizes the position effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To illustrate', 'For example', and 'To conclude', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, moving from the benefits of practical skills to the acknowledgement of theoretical foundations. However, the referencing is occasionally slightly awkward, such as in the second paragraph where the link between the Einstein example and the main point is somewhat tenuous. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'bookish understanding', 'practical implement', and 'inject someone'. The student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, but the collocation is often imprecise. There are also minor errors in word form, such as 'prefect' instead of 'perfect' and 'succeeded' instead of 'succeeding'. To improve, the student should focus on learning more natural collocations and precise academic terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('school provide', 'practical makes'), article misuse, and awkward sentence construction ('A number of population have thought'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent and occur in both simple and complex sentences. The control over punctuation and sentence boundaries is inconsistent. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to focus on basic grammatical accuracy and reducing the frequency of errors in sentence structure.
