Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, Some People believe that in every step of education from preliminary to graduation, they are spending more time on studying facts instead of taking practical knowledge. I completely agree that some fields need more skills in physical performance and children adept more easily through the practice.

The first reason for my agreement is that the practical skills are important for the future careers. This is because in some professions such as Pharmacy and IT, the hand on skills are more preferable than the facts. This type of careers is more about practical knowledge then some book facts. For example, when I gave interview in the pharmacy company, the employers were passing the applicants because of their knowledge and practice in the labs. Therefore, in this kind of careers, real-world practices are much more essencial.

The second reason is that student can learn more from the practice in real life than learning some facts. Moreover, the child who see and perform the skills can easily remember instead of just hearing about them. They can use those skills to make the future career in their desire subject area. For instance, the student who practice mathematics throughout life from the primary school to college can make career scientific level.

To sum up, I agree that from primary to universities level, people spend more time in theory knowledge then the real-world practice because the practice is much needed skills then the facts and students can learn anything from the childhood to adulthood precisely.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of practical skills. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like pharmacy and mathematics, the arguments remain quite general and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on 'mathematics' is vague and does not clearly explain how practical application improves learning compared to theory. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully extended with more specific, logical reasoning. You have addressed all parts of the task, but the explanation of 'why' and 'how' needs more substance to move beyond a basic level of argumentation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'The first reason,' 'The second reason,' and 'To sum up' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'This type of careers.' Additionally, some sentences feel disconnected due to awkward phrasing. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the overall flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. You frequently use basic terms like 'knowledge,' 'facts,' and 'skills.' There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'hand on skills' (should be 'hands-on skills'), 'essencial' (spelling error: 'essential'), and 'theory knowledge' (should be 'theoretical knowledge'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with greater sophistication. Avoid repeating the same words in close proximity, as this limits the range of your lexical expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'student can learn' instead of 'students can learn'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'the employers were passing the applicants'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency to ensure your writing is more accurate.
