Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few group of individuals have argued that education bodies gives more weightage to theory knowlege over practical skills. However i strongly agree to this statement and will explain my viewpoint in upcoming paragraph with appropriate reasons and examples.

To begin with, colleges in recent times have more theory classes than practical labs due to which students can not focus in their skills and only get score in writtern exam to pass the class. which eventually affect the student in their future journey, because in real life they can not face the problems due lower confidence . for example i read in a news paper that a Docter could not save a person life due to not having any good practical experience. so, if the schools does not focus on practical skills their might be many problems because universities are the foundation step for the youth

Moreover, we can se young generation does not have more intrest to sit and watch the lectures or listing to teachers they want a real life experience which they can get by exposure by focusing on practical abilities.

On other hand , i believe that a Goverment should invest more in public awareness and education ministry should look into it .beside that it can not be ignored that theory Knowlege is also important for student.

To sum up, education organization should invest more on practical skills rather than learning skills which will help youth to build confidence to face problems in future and easily overcome from it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you provide a relevant example regarding a doctor, the explanation is somewhat superficial and lacks depth. The arguments regarding student interest and government intervention are mentioned but not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more comprehensive reasoning and ensure that each point directly supports your main argument. The structure is present, but the content needs more elaboration to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To begin with' and 'Moreover' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes disjointed, such as the abrupt shift in the second paragraph. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between ideas could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your thoughts more naturally. The overall progression of ideas is present but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'problems', and 'important'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'weightage to theory knowlege' and 'foundation step'. While your meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there are occasional errors in spelling and word formation (e.g., 'Docter', 'writtern', 'intrest'). To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'education bodies gives', 'schools does not'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation. For instance, the sentence 'which eventually affect the student in their future journey' is a fragment and contains a tense error. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and sentence boundaries would be beneficial.
