Student answer (Band 6.0)

Certain people belive that process of study has mainly based on theoretical knowledge rather than practical implementation at all the schools and universities. I strongly agree to this statment. My opinion is justified in following paragraphs.

Discussing my opinion the foremost one I shall put forward is that Universities prioritize grades and merit therefore, focus on book-base theories; leads to major time waste on studying facts and, very less time spent on practical knowledge. For instance, biology students have received proper knowledge about bacteria, and their development but do not get chance to observed microscopically. Furthermore, good merit list can give better recognition to a university.

Additionally, schools and universities mainly focus on completing course by the time so mainly avoid practical part because it requires extra time and efforts. Consequently, it is difficult for pupils implement practically. For an example, Physiotherapy students learn the techniques to relieved a pain but hesitate to apply on patients because of less practical exposer.

On Other hand, hands-on practice is more important for clearly understand concept of theory. In fact, visual presentation and application of different techniques help children to memorized easily. For instance, Demonstration of live circulatory system on anatomical model make it easier to understand by Medical field students. Moreover, practical knowledge can induced interest and critical thinking in particular subject.

All in all, it can be said that pratical skills significantly help to clear basic fundamentals easily and improve critical thinking. However, I believe schools and universities curriculum mainly focus on theoretical knowledge for good grades and higher merits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the focus on grades in universities and the benefits of hands-on practice for medical students. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'book-base theories' is a bit repetitive, and the examples provided, while relevant, could be more deeply explored to fully support the argument. The conclusion summarizes the main points well, but the overall development remains at a level where the ideas are supported but not fully extended in a sophisticated manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'On Other hand', which help the flow of the argument. However, there are instances where the cohesion feels slightly mechanical or forced. For example, the transition 'Discussing my opinion the foremost one I shall put forward' is somewhat awkward and wordy. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the connection between the first and second sentences in the second paragraph. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical, but the management of cohesive devices could be more natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinions clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'theoretical knowledge', 'practical implementation', and 'anatomical model'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'book-base' instead of 'book-based', 'relieved a pain' instead of 'relieve pain', and 'practical exposer' instead of 'practical exposure'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the range and precision of the language used, preventing a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'Certain people belive that process of study has mainly based' (missing articles and incorrect verb tense), 'do not get chance to observed' (incorrect verb form), and 'can induced interest' (incorrect modal verb usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
