Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is indeed true that in this contemporary world all the schools, colleges and universities are using the same traditional methods of teaching such as focusing of theoretical way rather than practical skills since last few decades. I strongly agree with this view and I will examine the pros and cons in this essay.
First and foremost, it's quite evident that the schools and the colleges have been teaching the students in a traditional methods. So, learners could sometimes feel monotonous. To add to this, teachers generally keeps reading from the books and students may lose concentration. For example, In India, Instead of focusing on practical skills such as lab experiments, group activities and presentations, the educators usually explain theories and facts within the class.
Furthermore, the reason behind this is the teachers usually have limited time to complete substantial syllabus. Therefore, in order to complete this syllabus they focus on time saving methods. However, It is significantly important for pupils to gain confident, learn skills like teamwork, time management and professionalism. These skills they would learn by doing practical experiments and extra curriculum activities within the campus.
All in all, although the traditional methods of teaching has a few drawbacks, there are plenty of ways to tackle this issue such as teachers should adopt practical methods such as smartboards, group discussions, storytelling, skills development activities. As a result, the students stay active, confident, motivated and determined.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the essay introduces the topic and provides some relevant examples, such as the mention of the Indian education system, the arguments remain somewhat superficial. The discussion on 'pros and cons' mentioned in the introduction is not fully realized, as the essay focuses almost exclusively on the drawbacks of the current system. To improve, you should expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'All in all' to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, and the logical development within paragraphs could be strengthened by providing more cohesive links between the problem and the proposed solution.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'theoretical', 'practical skills', 'syllabus', and 'professionalism'. However, there are instances of word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'focusing of theoretical way' and 'gain confident'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary with more precision and avoid repetitive phrasing. Working on collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form will significantly improve your lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('teachers generally keeps reading', 'traditional methods of teaching has'), incorrect article usage, and preposition errors ('in a traditional methods'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help you achieve a higher band score.
