Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals say that most of the time students give in the school and universities is only focused on theory but not practical things. I am partially agree with this statement and this essay will discuss my point of view for this statement.

To start with my foremost point, that the theory education for any work is very important for any one to create a strong project ahead. Therefor, the primary school children needs the factual knowledge before coming to high school level of education and university . For instance, primary school students should work on basics equations and theories to solve the bigger questions in the future. Moreover, this thing will help them to build a proper foundation for there college life in future.

However , when we talk about the practical work it is mostly needed in the upper level of education like high school, colleges and universities, which is important because practical knowledge is the only thing which will help them to work on real life questions and problems. For example , the students of the mathematics should know how to do calculation or solve questions if they are working in these kind of fields in which they have to use calculations. That is the reason students of higher level education needs the practical approach.

In the conclusion, both the things are really important for overall growth of the student , theory in starting and practical work ahead which will build the strong overall performance . The theoratical and definations should be the part of starting education and the practicall work should be done in the college and universities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position of partial agreement. The ideas are relevant, distinguishing between the needs of primary education and higher education. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that theory is important for a 'strong project' and practical work is needed for 'real life questions', these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall development remains somewhat basic and repetitive in its structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In the conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother; for instance, the transition from discussing primary school to college life in the second paragraph feels a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion needs more variety to improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'work', and 'questions' repeatedly. There are also some errors in word choice and form, such as 'theoratical' (theoretical) and 'definations' (definitions). While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits the score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to education and pedagogy, and ensure you are using the correct word forms consistently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include 'I am partially agree' (I partially agree), 'the primary school children needs' (children need), 'there college life' (their college life), and 'both the things are' (both are). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While you attempt complex sentences, the control over grammar is not consistent enough to warrant a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic proofreading would significantly improve your accuracy.
