Student answer (Band 6.5)
It has always been a matter of debate that in our education system an excessive amount of time is being spent on teaching theoretical concepts rather than equipping individuals with real-life practicle skills. I completely agree with this statement.
To commence with, from primary schools to universities, all the emphasis is on learning and understanding theories from textbooks instead of performing practical experiments. This is because individuals' abilities are measured with examinations which are largely based on memorising theories. Also, in our traditional schooling system, essential subjects such as physics, chemistry, and physical education are taught in classrooms rather than laboratories or playgrounds. Consequently, students lack important skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking because they never perform or experience similar issues in real-life.
On the other hand, introducing students with practical education can boost their learning time, capabilities, and life-skills. Because, it is a fact that if we experience and perform any activity in real-life, we may be able to learn it conveniently, efficiently and even became aware about troubleshooting. Due to this, students may develop interest in a particular field at their an early stage of life. For instance, China already applies the concept of practical learning in their education system. Due to this, they are able to create more scientists in their country which often leads to more development and discoveries in science and medical fields.
To sum up, traditional education forces the students to focus on learning facts which is completely unproductive in today's competitive world. This is why, I believe the focus should be on practical learning which could develop real-life skills in individuals which also helps in the development of a nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have clearly addressed the prompt by taking a firm stance and supporting it with relevant arguments. You cover all parts of the task, providing reasons for your agreement and an example regarding China's education system. The ideas are generally well-developed, though the explanation of how practical learning leads to 'troubleshooting' could be more specific to reach a higher band. Your position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes your main points. To improve, ensure that your examples are fully integrated into the argument to demonstrate a deeper connection between the theory and the practical outcome.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the use of 'Because' at the start of a sentence is grammatically informal and disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that referencing between sentences is smoother to create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'theoretical concepts', 'equipping', and 'competitive world'. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'practicle' instead of 'practical', and some awkward phrasing, such as 'became aware about troubleshooting'. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision is occasionally lacking. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and ensure that your word choices are consistently appropriate for a formal academic context. Avoid informal phrasing like 'at their an early stage'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are recurring grammatical errors, such as 'introducing students with practical education' (should be 'to'), and 'became aware about' (should be 'aware of'). The sentence 'Because, it is a fact that...' is a fragment and should be integrated into the previous sentence. There are also minor issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. To improve, focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed without errors that distract the reader.
