Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, education has expanded rapidly, becoming an integral part of modern society. Although some people believe that schools and universities emphasis on teaching facts rather than practical skills. Thus, I agree with above notion as it is imposing excessive lode on curriculum and students may not get chance to explore real life situations.
First and foremost, learning facts involve plenty of theories which lead pressure since pupils have to memorize each and every detail about incidents and sometimes, children might be not able to learn certain things by just reading books by not having strong grasping skills. In addition to that, complex subjects such as science and technology become harder for students due to not having options of exploring real life examples and they may feel bored while remembering process of the experiments, formulas, codes and how can they make particular solutions followed by analyzing and testing. Consequently, it becomes though when they are participating in internships by not having major knowledge of the situations which may consider the main part of learning science and technology.
Moreover, in this contemporary world, modern employers are looking for the candidates who value practical applications, critical thinking, teamwork and technological capabilities instead of imposing memorization of theories in real life. Meanwhile, schoolers may not survive in this competitive world, as they do not have abilities of core activities and real life knowledge.
To conclude, practical knowledge assist in not only securing a job position in this modern time but also help in exploring lots of experiments related to science which is applicable in analyzing and testing the situation, while learning facts followed by ample theories could build boring structures and hamper learning process.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on the limitations of rote memorization versus the benefits of practical skills. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the arguments could be more thoroughly supported with specific, concrete examples. For instance, the mention of 'science and technology' is a good start, but it remains somewhat generalized. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a distinct, well-elaborated point that directly supports the thesis statement without circling back to the same concepts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'In addition to that', and 'Moreover' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, some of the transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as in the opening sentence of the second paragraph. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the natural flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'curriculum', 'internships', and 'critical thinking'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'excessive lode' (likely meant 'load'), 'schoolers' (not standard in this context), and 'major knowledge'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the student relies on basic phrasing to express complex ideas. Expanding the range of synonyms and focusing on more precise collocations would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include 'learning facts involve' (subject-verb agreement error), 'by not having strong grasping skills' (awkward prepositional usage), and 'it becomes though' (likely meant 'tough'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence fragments and run-on sentences. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with grammatical precision.
