Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era, there is a heated argument over the issue that practical skills and knowledge are much more crucial than learning skills from the books. A lion's share of society favors it. The ensure lines will attempt to put forward various on my personal perspective along with the relevant example in the subsequent paragraphs.
To commence with the reason, first and foremost is that practical knowledge prepares students for real life as in the competitive era, where people have to face a lot of real situations whether in terms of work life or personal life, this way of learning make students more confident from the childhood to deal with them without any hesitation. For instance, if a student who learns basic budgeting can understand how to manage their income, rent, bills and daily expenses when they start living independently. This can only be possible with practical knowledge not theoretical one. Thus, this trend is skyrocketed in this modern era.
Adding further, this pattern of learning helps the learners to become more creative from the day first as practical knowledge always requires the more planning and critical thinking on the situation which helps students create their own plan to get out from that tense situation. This skill helps them to shine like a star in front of world. so that's why, it is crucial to have real world knowledge.
Hammering the last nail, in my opinion having experiential knowledge is best way of learning in this modernized era whereas learning about the facts can make students less attentive towards study.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of practical skills. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example of budgeting is relevant, the second body paragraph relies on vague assertions about 'creativity' and 'critical thinking' without concrete examples. The introduction is also slightly confusing, as it refers to 'ensure lines' and 'the issue that practical skills... are much more crucial than learning skills from the books,' which slightly misrepresents the prompt's focus on the balance between facts and skills. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a specific, well-explained example to support the main argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or unnatural. Phrases like 'The ensure lines will attempt to put forward' and 'Hammering the last nail' are awkward and do not function effectively as transition signals. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'A lion's share of society favors it,' where the antecedent for 'it' is ambiguous. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the flow between sentences could be improved by using more standard academic linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural collocations and misused idioms. For example, 'The ensure lines' is non-standard, and 'Hammering the last nail' is an incorrect usage of the idiom 'nail in the coffin' or 'the final nail.' Phrases like 'shine like a star' are too informal for an academic essay. While the student attempts to use a range of vocabulary, the lack of precision and the reliance on awkward phrasing limit the score. More focus on academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('this way of learning make students'), missing articles ('from the day first'), and awkward phrasing ('this trend is skyrocketed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
