Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's fast-paced world, many individuals had diverse opinion on a wide range of topics. Some people state that education from primary schools to universities level contain excessive time for learning and lesser time for practical skills. I wholeheartedly agree with this perspective and reasons of behind my argument will be discuss further.
To begin with, worldwide education system follows a similar patter which majorily focus on facts. This is because facts are essential for children's growth and understanding. A child can learn new and exciting facts on a variety of topics just by studying facts which will guide them through life. Additionally, an individuals needs to understand facts before starting practical work. For instance, scientists who perform experiments in a laboratory, firstly study history about chemicals and their reactions to each other before beginning the experiment. Therefore, it is important to study facts in the education system.
On the other hand, practical skills are equally important for developing and understanding ideas. The main reason for practicals is to help a person understand the concept of doing something by using their body or visuals. From a young age, people develop their skills such as writing by practising. Moreover, by performing actions it assists a student in comprehending an idea much more easily. For example, if a student is studying first aid, the tutor should allow them to perform actions such as how to treat a cut or bleeding nose. In this way, person will know exactly what to do in a real-life situation, thus is essential for people to study practical work as well.
In conclusion, practical skills in the education system are important to learn from an early age. However, theory is also important. In my opinion, the education system should focus on both facts and practical skills to be successful in daily and work life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt and maintained a clear position throughout. You acknowledge the importance of facts while arguing for a better balance with practical skills. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, in the second paragraph, you argue that facts are essential, which slightly contradicts your initial agreement with the prompt's premise that 'too much time' is spent on them. A more nuanced approach would be to explain why the current balance is skewed rather than simply listing the benefits of both. To reach a higher band, ensure your supporting arguments directly reinforce your thesis statement more consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between the importance of facts and the need for practical skills could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') is always precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'laboratory', 'experiments', and 'comprehending'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'majorily' (should be 'mainly' or 'primarily') and 'patter' (should be 'pattern'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on common words rather than more sophisticated or precise alternatives. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('an individuals needs', 'reasons... will be discuss') and article misuse ('the worldwide education system'). While you attempt complex sentences, they are not always error-free. To achieve a higher band, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that verb forms (e.g., passive voice construction) are used correctly. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences will significantly improve your score.
