Student answer (Band 4.5)
Most people say that all levels of education, from primary schools to universities ,too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills
I always dis agree with this statement.
Firstly I am starting with primary schools, teachers staring with normal writing tasks.for example first they start to give writing practice for letter a,b,c etc.after they start reading practice ,and give some homework it was the basic way to study.
Secondly, studying in universities it is not easy to study because each semester need to score minimum marks to pass out.for example students wants to submit
projects on time and moreover maintain their attendance and complete their practical note.most of the students failed because they are not completed
Their practicals in the workshops.every universities have their own practical labs and libraries it's helpful for the students.
In conclusion, all level of education no need not too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the explanation of primary school education is simplistic and does not directly address the core issue of 'facts versus practical skills.' The conclusion is also repetitive and does not effectively summarize your position. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly,' which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the paragraphing is inconsistent and the flow between sentences is often disjointed. Some sentences, such as 'after they start reading practice ,and give some homework it was the basic way to study,' lack clear logical connections to the previous point. The overall organization is present but lacks the sophisticated progression required for higher bands. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'study,' 'practice,' and 'helpful.' There are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'pass out' (which usually means to faint) instead of 'graduate' or 'pass the course.' You also struggle with word choice in context, such as 'every universities have their own practical labs.' To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of education, while also paying closer attention to word forms and pluralization.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('every universities have'), tense consistency, and sentence fragments. Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent spacing around commas and periods. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct subject-verb agreement and the proper use of articles. Additionally, practicing the use of complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, will help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
