Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that few people said that all levels of education from different institution give more preference to therotical education rather that practical learning things. I am completely agree with this viewpoint because practical skills can help children to grow and learn more deeply which can help them in their future career.

The main reason I agree is that if children want to be a farmer so rather than learning theory about farming they should work on ground level in fields. For example, if they work in field by growing different types of vegetables and fruits or many more they can easily now hat what things we should put more natural things so that can increase fertility of soil, if they go to their land everyday to see their vegetables they can learn more that by adding such things in soil have increased the growing level of vegetables. In addition, they can be experienced by doing practical things on ground.

The second important reason is that if children work with someone by doing different experiences under experienced person then he or she can learn different lessons from educated person who have spend their whole life in doing such works. For example, a children wants to be scientist, if he work under experienced scientist who did a lot of tests in his life then that teacher can help him to teach him from bottom to top by doing experiments with him.

In conclusion, I strongly agree with this statement that we should not sent our kids to schools and colleges and send let their kids give them practical skills under best teacher.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While the examples of farming and science are relevant, they are explained in a simplistic manner. The conclusion is problematic as it suggests that children should not be sent to schools or colleges at all, which is an extreme interpretation of the prompt and lacks nuance. To improve, you should focus on providing more sophisticated arguments that acknowledge the balance between theory and practice rather than suggesting an either-or scenario.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'The main reason', 'The second important reason'). There are also issues with referencing; for instance, the transition between ideas within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would significantly enhance the logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'work', and 'good'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'theoretical education rather that practical learning things' and 'now hat what things'. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education and professional development, while ensuring that your spelling is accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a children wants'), incorrect verb forms ('who have spend'), and awkward phrasing ('send let their kids give them'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences that lack proper conjunctions or full stops. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency would help improve your score.
