Student answer (Band 7.5)
A common public viewpoint is that the stages of qualification from primary to higher education consist of unnecessarily lengthy theories that often deprive students of real-world skills. Conversely, some individuals opine that the layout of the curriculum is designed to cater to students according to their intelligence quotient and should not be ignored by parents and teachers. From my perspective, incorporating theoretical knowledge with functional competencies is highly beneficial for students to harness their skills early in their childhood.
First of all, due to the infusion of Artificial Intelligence, the world is evolving rapidly. Collaborating traditional teaching methods with advanced technology at an early age for children—such as coding, web development, and animation creation—will yield profound results for a future with a sustainable career. Furthermore, incorporating practical problem-solving skills, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting, gives optimum knowledge to students to conquer the basic life difficulties they encounter in their lives. For instance, many new skill-based schools have opened in rural parts of India under the skill career scheme to make students self-resilient and independent for future career opportunities.
Moreover, the foundation of education must be strengthened by the pillars of infusing absolute knowledge and expertise to achieve the epitome of success. In my view, learning never stops, especially in this competitive world. Enhancing the required skills to pursue better growth must be promoted by educational institutes and governments globally. For instance, leading corporations like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys frequently organize training programs for new recruits to upgrade their core competencies in alignment with evolving market demands.
To encapsulate, in this dynamic world, extraordinary skills combined with an excellent educational foundation are key parameters for personal and professional success. Consequently, children should be advised by their guardians and educators to strive for excellence instead of chasing quick success.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, presenting a clear position that advocates for a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as the mention of the 'skill career scheme' in India and corporate training programs. However, the development of the argument is slightly uneven; while the practical skills section is well-supported, the discussion on 'absolute knowledge' in the third paragraph is somewhat abstract and could have been more explicitly linked back to the core debate of 'facts vs. skills'. Overall, the response is well-focused and maintains a consistent position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Conversely', 'First of all', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' are used effectively to guide the reader through the argument. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each paragraph focusing on a central theme. The progression of ideas is smooth, and the relationship between the theoretical foundation and practical application is clearly articulated. There is a slight tendency to use somewhat formal, almost mechanical transitions, but the overall flow remains clear and coherent.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
The student demonstrates a good range of vocabulary, including sophisticated items such as 'functional competencies', 'infusion', 'self-resilient', and 'epitome of success'. There is an awareness of style and collocation, which contributes to the formal tone of the essay. While there are occasional minor inaccuracies, such as 'infusing absolute knowledge' (which is slightly awkward in this context), the vocabulary is generally precise and sufficient for the task. The student successfully uses topic-specific terminology related to education and professional development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5
The essay displays a variety of complex sentence structures, including conditional-like constructions and participial phrases. The majority of sentences are error-free, and the control of grammar is generally strong. There are occasional minor slips, such as 'Collaborating traditional teaching methods' (where 'Combining' or 'Integrating' would be more natural) and 'in their lives' (which is slightly redundant after 'they encounter'). However, these errors are non-systematic and do not impede communication. Punctuation is used effectively to manage the flow of complex ideas.
