Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many individuals says that in schools and universities, pupils spent more time in learning facts rather , one should be spending that time in learning practical skills. Nowdays, practical skills are getting more important in this AI digital era. I would be explaing more in the forthcoming pragraphs about the importance of learning practical skills in the education.
People used to believe that history and other subjects in which many facts are included need to be studied in schools. But , facts which student study are not getting much importance because of the AI tools. AI companies are getting intelligent more and more. These technologies are going to shape our ecomomy in future. So , students should be learning practical skills on how to use these technologies rather than learning facts. By learning practical skills, students will get to learn and implement this technologies and also create better products.
Nowadays, unemployement is a very deep concern to all of us. Individual's need to improve himself daily. People have to be very curious about all the stuff around them . If individual needs to survive in this modern era, individual needs to know how to use this technologies ,and get better out of it. Before so many years, people used to survive by learning facts. In this AI era, if individual is not learning practical skills, one woulg get into depression and may lost his/her job.
Based on the mentioned reasons above, I agree that practical skills are important than learning facts in all levels of education.

| Criterion | Band |
|---|---|

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing that practical skills are more important than learning facts, particularly in the modern AI era. The main ideas are relevant and supported with examples related to technological advancements and employment concerns. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial and repetitive across the body paragraphs. While the writer covers all parts of the task, the arguments could be extended further with more specific examples rather than general assertions about survival and depression. The overall position is maintained throughout, fitting the criteria for Band 6.0, where all parts are addressed though some ideas are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, though paragraphing is somewhat basic and the progression of ideas can feel repetitive. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or awkwardly placed, as seen with punctuation errors around commas and conjunctions (e.g., 'But , facts which...'). Referencing is mostly clear, but transitional phrases between paragraphs could be smoother to enhance the flow of argumentation. Overall, the organization is adequate for a Band 5.5 or 6.0, but the mechanical nature of cohesion and minor organizational issues place it securely at Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and topical phrases such as 'AI digital era', 'ecomomy', and 'unemployement'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('explaing', 'pragraphs', 'ecomomy', 'unemployement', 'woulg') and occasional word choice inaccuracies ('Individual's need to improve himself daily'). While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the central message, the frequency of lexical and spelling errors impacts readability, making Band 5.0 the most appropriate descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('Many individuals says', 'pupils spent', 'Individual needs'), article usage ('in the forthcoming pragraphs'), and punctuation. For example, sentences such as 'AI companies are getting intelligent more and more' show awkward phrasal structures. Although these errors rarely impede overall comprehension, their high frequency across the text prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, aligning well with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
