Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some Individuals say that significant amount of time is invested in learning facts but not on gaining practical skills. I agree to a large extend that schools and universities focus more on teaching theoritical subjects rather than providing them with an extensive practical experience because teaching book's theory is less expensive and energy consuming .
One of the principal reasons of why educational institutes invest more time in learning facts is money. Schools and universities charge low tuition fees to educate children with basic theories and facts about the world. Gaining professional experience requires both hard work and money from learning centres. Consequently, to acquire more money from parents, schools are designed at different learning levels such as nursery, primary, secondary, college, university and then finally internships to gain experience. For example, a primary school only teaches basic mathematics and to in order to learn practical maths, students have to go private tuitions, abacus classes, hire private teachers.
Another primary reason is consumption of time, energy and lack of required resources. Teaching practical lessons often require good energy, years of experience, funding from government and most importantly plenty of resources. lower institutions don't have enough funding to provide all children with practical experience. For instance, to learn chemical reactions in real life, individuals first have to understand the basics in higher school, then they pursue a degree in it and finally get a chance to do real chemical reactions in laboratories. At the same time, a non-chemistry student will never know how a chemical reaction occur except theoritically. Additionally, gaining professional experience at lower age will force colleges and universities to shut down their buisness.
In conclusion, most of the educational schools and universities devote their time and enegy in teaching theories rather than practical skills due to lack of resources and funding. I agree that in contemporary world, all levels of education from primary to secondary, professors are speding more time on learning facts and proven theories.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The student addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing that education focuses too much on facts rather than practical skills. Main ideas are supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as mentioning primary school mathematics and chemical reactions in laboratories. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in parts, such as claiming that lower institutions do not have funding and that gaining professional experience forces universities to shut down businesses. Overall, the ideas are sufficiently extended to meet the requirements of Band 6.5 to Band 7.0, and the response fits best into Band 7.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The response is logically organized with a clear overall progression. Each body paragraph focuses on a distinct main reason, such as money and the consumption of time, energy, and resources. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as "One of the principal reasons," "Consequently," and "In conclusion," though referencing is occasionally imprecise. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion clearly. While cohesion can feel slightly mechanical in places, the overall arrangement is clear, justifying a solid Band 6.5, which rounds to Band 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "theoritical" (spelled incorrectly as theoritical), "educational institutes," and "professional experience." There are several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as "extend" instead of "extent," "theoritical," "buisness," and "enegy," as well as awkward collocations like "lower institutions" and "lower age." Despite these inaccuracies, communication is never impeded, and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating control over relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ("to learn practical maths, students have to go private tuitions"), incorrect prepositions ("spend on learning facts and not enough on learning"), and capitalization errors. While these errors occur regularly throughout the text, they rarely impede communication, allowing the response to secure a Band 6.0.
