Student answer (Band 6.0)

Over the last few years, the market situations has drastically changed. With the introduction of new technology, many companies now required candidate to be technical sound. This is an undenying fact that, the gap with the knowledge of a recent graudate or the basic requirement that a company is increasing day by day. New graudates are struggling to penetrate into the market because majority of them are not able to fulfil the basic requirements of the jobs.

Now some people blame it to the current education system. They argue that, the education system still following the old syllabus where as market is more dymamic and changing every second. All level of educations, from primary scholls to universities still teaching old modules focusing more on theory knowledge or facts instead of practical skills. Therefore, creating a gap with markets and the candidates.

As per some reports, one of the major reasons for the youth unemployment is that lack of knowledge and not meeting the basic eligibility. In the nutshell, candidates are not able to coop with the market or industries requirement.

I strongly agree to this fact that the level of education is behind. In schools and as well as universities, same old modules are still being taught. Hence, restriction students to develope new skills and be market ready.

Its a really high time that ministries should brings some refomrs based on current demands.

Furthermore, from my own experience, during my bachelors degree I was taught in same old format, where as the job I am currently in requires completely different skills.

As per economics times, only big universities or college have identified this and started updating the course modules. Nevertheless, majorities of colleges and universities still haven't started the dicussison yet.

One of the biggest challenge of this reform will the cost. A heavy capital will be needing to replace the old books and systems.

Movingahead, this move is significant and need to implemented into the all level of education. Otherwise with the same situation, the gap between the eomplyers and job seekers will keep on increasing.

Similarly, the magnitude of the impact is not limited to not limited to the youth unemployment. Seniors employees are being forced to work more. Many companies are not able to fulfil the industries requirement. Hence, leading to market economy disbalance.

In conclusion, our eduction system need new reforms on urgent basics, otherwise the damage will be unrecoverable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear stance on whether too much time is spent on learning facts rather than practical skills. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant arguments regarding youth unemployment, industry demands, and the cost of educational reform. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise or remain slightly under-developed, such as the brief mention of the Economic Times or general industry requirements. Overall, the prompt is well-addressed and demonstrates a clear understanding of the task requirements, aligning comfortably with a Band 6.5 to 7.0 profile.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear logical progression linking the problems of the education system to youth unemployment and potential solutions. Paragraphing is used, although some paragraphs are quite short, almost like isolated sentences (e.g., 'As per some reports...' and 'Its a really high time...'). Cohesive devices are employed, but some transitions are slightly mechanical or unidiomatic, such as 'Movingahead' and 'In the nutshell'. Referencing is generally clear, but occasional structural fragmentation prevents the text from achieving a higher band in this category.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate to the topic, including terms like 'penetrate into the market', 'dymamic', 'youth unemployment', and 'capital'. However, there are frequent word-choice errors, incorrect forms, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'market situations' instead of 'market situation', 'required candidate' instead of 'require candidates', 'technical sound' instead of 'technically sound', 'graudate' instead of 'graduate', 'coop' instead of 'cope', and 'eomplyers' instead of 'employers'. These errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, limiting the score to a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles (e.g., 'the education system still following', 'where as market is', 'restriction students to develope', 'Its a really high time that ministries should brings some refomrs'). Punctuation errors are also present, such as comma splices and missing apostrophes. While communication is not entirely impeded, the high density of grammatical inaccuracies places this firmly at a Band 5.0.
