Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some inividuals thinks in primary schools to universities, they all spent a lot of time on learning facts and not spending enough time on learning practical skills. I agree with this statement because facts are important to know about but marvelous practical skills are also necessary in this modern era. So, split both of of these in equal time between the learning practical skills and facts that may helps students to gain that they needs actually.

Firstly, without having prior knowledge and hands on experience companies will not offer the job. However, practical skills may help you improve to boost your communication and confidence. For example, currently students in india who are learning their studies about computer science and IT, they only got few subjects which are mostly theoritical rather than practical that is the primary reason people do not get enough salary or higher position in abroad.

Secondly, to improve the education system, some of the policy makers can improve it via including practical lessons in their daily classes. Furthermore, individuals can easily get professional job which will help to boost the economy and creates better employement opportunities. For instance, Japan is famous for teaching all the practical skills with disciplines from the 3-4 years till the time of their uiniversity that helps pupils to easy to understand work and they also solve the problems quickly.

In conclusion, it is vital to learn facts but only learning it will not save the future of the youth. While, gaining practical skills with learing truth develop their minds and assist them to solve the biggest hurdle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing that too much time is spent on facts rather than practical skills. The ideas are relevant, discussing employability and the Indian/Japanese educational contexts. However, some arguments lack full development and generalisations are made without deep elaboration. For instance, the mention of computer science students in India offers a concrete example, but the logical link between theoretical subjects and low salaries or lack of higher positions abroad is asserted rather than fully explained. The conclusion correctly restates the position. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the Band 6 descriptor where all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, though some are somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into four distinct paragraphs, following a standard essay structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion can be faulty or mechanical at times, as seen in the phrase 'split both of of these in equal time' and 'While, gaining practical skills with learing truth develop their minds'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but the overall logical progression within paragraphs occasionally stumbles due to awkward phrasing and imprecise linking of ideas. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptor, where the essay has a coherent overall arrangement even though cohesion can be mechanical or faulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their main ideas about education, practical skills, and employability. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'employement opportunities', 'professional job', and 'theoritical', but these attempts are frequently accompanied by spelling mistakes ('inividuals', 'theoritical', 'employement', 'learing') and awkward word choices ('learning truth', 'marvelous practical skills'). Despite these inaccuracies, the lexical range is sufficient to make the meaning clear to the reader without impeding overall communication, which places this performance solidly at Band 5.5 to 6.0. Given the consistent presence of noticeable lexical errors balanced against adequate functional vocabulary, a Band 6.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structures with clauses linked by 'because', 'although', and relative pronouns. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement errors ('Some inividuals thinks', 'facts that may helps'), awkward verb forms ('they all spent', 'they only got few subjects'), and missing prepositions or articles. Although these errors are noticeable and require the reader to occasionally re-read parts of sentences, they rarely impede overall communication of the core message. This profile matches the Band 6 descriptor, which describes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms with some errors that rarely impede communication.
