Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some individuals think that more time is spent on learning facts from primary to unversities education than acquaring practical skills. I completly agree that people should give more importance to practical skills for a few reasons like building up confidence to do without fear.
some people talk about too much time is spent on learning facts than practical skills like, if eduaction is giving more opportunities for practical skills it will boost the confidence of the individual. For instance, If i have a knowledge in teaching life skill education but i dont have the confidence to stand in front of the crowd and speak, then its a failure. Moreover, if i do get a chance to enact the skills, then will have the courage to without fear.
Another reason,it is necessary to spent more time in learning practical skills is help in professional growth. There will be a few jobs which need practical sessions such as, teaching field, Armed force team, helath team and so on. People will be aware of doing the practical sessions. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position of agreement regarding the emphasis on facts over practical skills in education. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on repetitive arguments without sufficient depth or fully relevant examples. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the response contains only 234 words against the required minimum of 250 words. This under-length impacts the overall development and completeness of the task. Consequently, these limitations place the task achievement in the band 5.0 range, as the response addresses the prompt only partially and lacks fully extended support.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into four paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion, showing a basic overall structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices. For instance, the transition 'Another reason,it is necessary to spent more time in learning practical skills is help in professional growth' exhibits awkward linking and punctuation issues. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks smooth flow. Pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the dangling phrase 'then will have the courage to without fear.' These features align well with the band 5.0 descriptors, showing some organization but an inadequate and repetitive use of cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for expressing basic opinions on education and skills. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'unversities' for universities, 'compleatly' for completely, 'acquaring' for acquiring, and 'helath' for health. Attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'professional growth' and 'life skill education', are marred by inaccurate collocations and spelling slips. Although communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of lexical errors places this performance firmly at band 5.0, where vocabulary is restricted and noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex structures are faulty or incomplete. Examples include 'If i have a knowledge in teaching life skill education but i dont have the confidence to stand in front of the crowd and speak, then its a failure' and missing words such as 'courage to [do so] without fear.' There are frequent grammatical errors involving articles, verb forms, and preposition usage, along with consistent capitalization issues with the pronoun 'i'. These frequent errors and the limited control over complex forms restrict the grammar score to band 5.0.
